MDI Ventures Focuses on Enterprise Partnerships Post-Investment

Startup synergy within a innovation network

After actively investing in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and blockchain startups throughout 2025, MDI Ventures is now focusing on strengthening collaboration within the Telkom Group and state-owned enterprise (SOE) ecosystem.

The corporate venture capital firm aims to maximize the value of its portfolio by building stronger and more structured partnerships between startups and large enterprises.

Over the past year, MDI Ventures invested in companies such as Cyfirma, Whale, and IDRX. Moving forward, the company is positioning itself as a bridge between startup innovation and enterprise needs.

Its strategy centers on creating measurable outcomes, such as pilot projects that move into full implementation, clear go-to-market plans, and partnerships that can scale across multiple organizations.

One example of this approach is the collaboration between Digiserve, part of Telkom, and cybersecurity firm Cyfirma. Cyfirma’s Cyber Threat Intelligence technology has been integrated into Telkom Solution’s services.

This allows enterprise clients not only to detect cyber threats but also to better understand potential risks and take preventive action. By combining Cyfirma’s technology with Digiserve’s market reach, the offering is designed to serve enterprise cybersecurity needs more effectively and at scale.

MDI Ventures also emphasized the importance of trust and governance in building long-term value. As a corporate venture capital firm, it highlighted the need for transparency and strong oversight, especially as collaboration between startups, corporate partners, and government-linked entities becomes more complex.

To support this effort, MDI Ventures partnered with the Indonesia Venture Capital Association (AMVESINDO) to host Synergy Innovation Week 2025. The event brought together portfolio companies, Telkom Group representatives, and various SOEs to explore structured partnership opportunities.

A key session during the week was the Ventures Forum, which included representatives from major government institutions. Discussions focused on regulatory clarity, governance alignment, and building a sustainable innovation ecosystem.

Looking ahead, MDI Ventures plans to continue deepening partnerships across its portfolio while maintaining trust and strong governance as core priorities.
